On Thursday, May 27th, NH Chronicle will be running a segment on Granite State Ringers.

If you can’t be at home to see us on Channel 9 at 7:30pm, set your DVRs and VCRs.

Do you have 2-5 years of ringing experience and can successfully ring Level 3 and higher handbell repertoire?

The Granite State Ringers are looking for ringers and substitutes for the 2010-2011 ringing year to support the mission of offering musicians, who are committed to the art of handbell ringing, opportunities to promote and perform a varied handbell repertoire.

Auditions will be held June 13 from 3-6p.m. (we will notify you of the location ASAP) For more information contact Joan at jeafbell@aol.com or go to www.granitestateringers.org

It’s official!

It’s official! The Granite State Ringers has received its letter from the IRS confirming its status as a 501(c)(3) tax exempt charitable organization! That means we can accept donations, and you can take a tax deduction.

Even though playing bells is a labor of love, it costs money to do it. And we have some pretty ambitious plans for the GSR in the coming years that will come with a price tag. So if you like what we do, and want to support our mission to bring handbells to everyone in New Hampshire, please help us out. Very soon, we’ll be able to take your gift right on this web site. When you attend a handbell concert you find yourself uplifted, inspired, and happy. After all, it is the most unique experience you’ll encounter with live music. But many don’t realize that being a handbell choir member takes a lot of time, practice, and dedication. It’s a team experience where everyone is needed and vital to every musical selection.

Today, I decided to visit Granite State Ringers in the middle of an all day practice. The group was split up into three groups in different parts of Wesley United Methodist Church. Each room had a different focus on musical technique. Here then, is a small audio snippet of some of their hard work….
